Black Mirror Season 5 Will Only Have 3 Episodes

Ever since the interactive Black Mirror episode Bandersnatch came out in December of 2018, fans have been itching to hear news about when the show would make its return. Well for all the eager viewers, there’s no longer a reason to wait. Netflix has revealed the release date for Black Mirror Season 5.
Black Mirror Season 5 Will be Returning on June 5th
Netflix also released a trailer to accompany the release data reveal. The 1:47 video shows various characters that will be appearing this season, including a man being hunted down by the law, a couple dealing with a potential scandalous affair, and a young lady dealing with a life of loneliness.
The full trailer can be seen below:
Although the release date and trailer are both exciting feats for fans of the Netflix hit, it was also revealed that Black Mirror season 5 will only contain three episodes; a sharp reduction from six episodes that both season 3 and 4 contained.
It’s likely that the reduction in episodes for Black Mirror Season 5 is due to Bandersnatch happening only six months prior to when season 5 will be aired.
There’s also been mixed reaction from fans on Twitter to news of a shortened season. Although some are disappointed in not having as many episodes, others are just happy to see the series return sooner than previously anticipated.

Will Season 5 Episodes Be Interactive?
It doesn’t appear that any of the three episodes for season 5 will follow the same interactive format that Bandersnatch had. Instead, the show seems to be returning to the formats that they had for season 1-4.
It does appear, however, that Black Mirror season 5 will be more star-strutted that it has in years past. Miley Cyrus is one of the popular celebrity additions to this season, and she even appeared in the season 5 trailer.
