Grooming Mistakes You Need to Stop Making
So you finally made being well-groomed a top priority, you’re finally standing out for the right reasons, and you believe you‘ve gotten your regimen down. You moisturize your skin, condition your hair, and whiten your teeth. Everything seems good, right? The problem is, there a are a few grooming mistakes you might be making. Although it’s not the end of the world, addressing these issues can make a huge difference. These are the grooming mistakes you need to stop committing.
The Grooming Mistakes You Need to Stop Making
Moisturizing, but not hydrating Your Skin
Moisturizing your skin is important -and the fact you‘re doing that already is great. However, it‘s not enough. There are two issues that affect your skin: lack of oil and lack of water. If your skin is losing its natural oil and is becoming dryer, a moisturizer is what can help replenish this oil. But what about the lack of water? Moisturizing will not help with this issue. This is where hydrating comes into place. A hydrator will help your skin regain this lost water, making it appear more radiant.
Washing Your Hair Every day
You started to add a conditioner to your routine, but did you know you‘re still hurting your hair by washing it daily? Before you become disgusted with the thought of unwashed hair, hear us out. Washing your hair every day strips it of its natural oils. By only washing your hair every two-to-three days, you’ll help your it keep these oils which will make it softer and look better. Remember, although you aren’t washing it daily, you still can shower and use conditioner. Most people don‘t even notice that much of a difference on days when they condition but don’t wash. Give it a shot, and you’ll soon see a noticeable difference.
Artificially Whitening Your Teeth
We’re not saying you shouldn‘t use teeth whitening products. There are plenty of situations where stains are so embedded in your teeth, it‘s impossible for you to get rid of them with just brushing and flossing. However, there are things you could do in your teeth regimen to help make your teeth whiter naturally so you don‘t have to whiten as often. These include:
- Using a fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash.
- Using an alcohol mouthwash
Fluoride is an important component of oral care. Toothpaste that has adequate fluoride in it will strengthen your enamel and fight cavities. A strong enamel also means that your teeth will look whiter. Most people already incorporate an alcohol mouth wash, like Listerine, which is great at killing germs and preventing gingivitis. But, you also should add a fluoride mouthwash. Not only will this give you the aforementioned benefits of stronger enamel, but it’ll neutralize the acids in your mouth if you use it right after your Listerine.
Neglecting the Under Eyes
People neglect their under-eye care. If you using a facial moisturizer under your eye – or even worse – not putting anything, you‘re setting yourself up for long-term grooming failure. Not only do you need to moisturize this area, but you must do so with ingredients formulated for the under-eye. It’s proven that eye creams with ingredients like hydraulic acid can add volume to this area, making you look younger and more rejuvenated.
