Tinder Is Coming Out With a New Version of Their App Called Tinder Lite

Tinder is set to begin the rolling out of a new light version of their popular dating app called Tinder Lite. The purpose of TInder Lite is to give users a lighter and less resource demanding version of Tinder.
What Features Will Be Removed in Tinder Lite?
It’s not clear which features Match Group, the company that owns Tinder, plans to remove from the TInder app. Currently, Tinder has multiple features that could be considered resource-intensive including:
- TInder Loops: Videos that repeat themselves over a set amount of seconds.
- Tinder Bitmojis: Personalized emojis that users can customize in appearance.
- Top Picks: Tinder picks users that it deems would be a good match for you, and displays them on a separate tab.

When Will Tinder Lite Be Released?
There’s no word yet on when exactly Tinder Lite will be released. Like other Tinder features, there’s a possibility that the developers will roll out the app in select markets before creating a global release.
What’s The Purpose of a Lite Version of Tinder?
Although it may seem minute to most casual users of the dating app, there’s a lot of reasons as to why developers would want to pursue a lighter version of the app. Lighter versions can help create higher ease-of-use in current markets and help users in emerging markets who may not have access to higher-end devices.
It should be noted that on April 7th, Match Group announced record earnings for the company, partly because of an increase in the number of subscribers to Tinder. It makes sense that they’d want to devote more time into the money-makers for the company, especially if that means gaining an increase of customers.
